President & CEO

Lisa Bage, President & CEO, joined MIIMG in May 2015. Prior to MIIMG, Ms. Bage worked for Bankers Insurance Company as a Senior Vice President over Product and Sales. She has over 20 years of insurance industry experience and has held various product, sales, and marketing positions with Kemper and Progressive.

Ms. Bage received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Eastern Kentucky University, a Masters of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University, and expected to receive her Ed.D. from University of Pennsylvania in August. She is a licensed agent and holds her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Daniel Boxell

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Daniel Boxell, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, joined MIIMG in 2013.  He leads a finance team responsible for the internal and external financial reporting for the organization including all regulatory related filings.  He is also responsible for incorporating the strategic plan into the financial projections and capital forecasting.  In addition, he is primarily responsible for the reinsurance structure and the annual placement of the reinsurance program consistent with the organization’s risk tolerance.  He monitors and works closely with the reinsurance intermediaries, independent auditors, actuaries, rating agency analysts, and investment management firms.

Prior to MIIMG, Mr. Boxell worked for Gateway Insurance Company beginning in 1982.  While at Gateway, Mr. Boxell held various positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President & Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Boxell has been in the insurance industry for 35 years serving in various positions in the fields of finance, operations, and executive management.  Mr. Boxell holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Baker University.

Brenda Dutton

Vice President of Information Systems and Data Management

Brenda Dutton, Vice President of Information Systems and Data Management, is responsible for managing the development and ongoing improvements to all operational systems for the MAX Enterprise.  She oversees the project prioritization and progress to provide agents, members, and employees with the efficient systems needed to transact business.  Her team is also responsible for managing the data within and reports from systems as needed to manage operations, to perform required reporting to regulators, reinsurers, third party vendors, and others to make management decisions.  Ms. Dutton has led the development team for the past seven years, in which time they have successfully replaced and converted a legacy system to the modern web based intuitive system used today.

Prior to joining MAX Insurance, Ms. Dutton had 25 years of experience in underwriting and management with a national carrier that worked through independent agents and a direct writer carrier.  Her business expertise led her to be involved in many system projects with prior companies that included requirement definition, request for proposals, analyzing systems available in the marketplace, quality assurance, and project management experience.  In addition to her work experience, she holds the designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the Insurance Institute of America and has earned a Bachelor of Science in management and a Masters in Business Administration.

Sales and Service Center Manager

 

Kim Bronder, Sales and Service Center Manager, manages the MAX Insurance Agency book of business as well as the Sales and Service Center Team. She has been in the insurance industry as a producer for over 18 years with experience selling auto, home, life, and commercial. Her responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with a wide variety of carrier sites, maintaining the agency management system, and working closely with independent agents and customers.

Ms. Bronder graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a minor in Psychology. She holds a C.I.S.R. designation.

Lisa Everhart, Controller, is responsible for financial statement preparation and analysis for MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”) and subsidiaries.  She has managed and directed MAX’s financial statutory filing process for over 17 years and has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years.  Prior to entering the insurance industry, Ms. Everhart worked as an auditor in public accounting for 6 years.  Her background includes reinsurance and investment accounting as well as budgeting and forecasting.

A graduate of Kansas State University, she is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Missouri Society of CPAs.

 

Sheryl Jantzi, Agent Licensing Specialist, has performed agency /
agent licensing, appointment activities and related system data
administration for MutualAid eXchange and MAX Insurance Agency
since 2013. Previously, she was Director of Reinsurance for Mennonite Indemnity, Inc. Prior to joining Mennonite Indemnity, Inc., Ms. Jantzi was Assistant Director of Operations for CIGNA providing support for 38 healthcare centers in southern CA. Ms. Jantzi is a member of the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association and has been a member of National Association of Female Executives since 1990.

 

 

Christi Lage, Director of Claims, has 27 years of experience in the
insurance claims industry. She manages the claims operation for
MutualAid eXchange and the Kansas FAIR Plan, providing superior
leadership including hiring and training claims staff, implementing claim procedures, performing audits, managing all claims litigation, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Ms. Lage began her insurance career in 1990 with State Farm Insurance and has worked for several insurance companies in claims operations before joining MIIMG. She has been handling claims for MIIMG since joining the company in 2003. In addition to managing day-to-day claims operations, Ms. Lage has built relationships with outside independent adjusting companies, service vendors, and attorneys to ensure service standards and competitive billing fees. She also had an integral part in developing the claim processing system for MAX’s new insurance policy processing system. Her commitment to claims service standards is evident by measured exceptional customer survey responses as well as high remarks in all financial and reinsurer claim audits.

Ms. Lage holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Nebraska and an Associate in Claims designation.

Bob McEntire, Manager of IT Operations, joined MIIMG in 2008. He hasover 20 years in the IT industry in various roles. Mr. McEntire manages all aspects of the IT environment for the MAX Enterprise, including network support, email, server and desktop support, telephony, and all aspects of digital collaboration. His background includes photography, journalism, personnel management, and golf entrepreneur.

 

 

 

Karen Morrone, Marketing and Communications Manager, is responsible for all communications throughout the MAX Enterprise, including both print and online media. From product brochures, annual reports, and company vision and mission pieces to websites, social media accounts and email communication, Ms. Morrone handles a variety of marketing needs. She joined MIIMG in 2006 and has enjoyed the variety and creativity that her position has encompassed throughout the years.

Ms. Morrone is proficient in building and editing websites on the WordPress and Wix platforms. In addition to coordinating MAX’s blogging efforts on its websites, Karen also manages the internal company blog that uses the Blogin platform. She administers all of the MAX Enterprise social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. She has several years of experience using MailChimp, an email marketing platform, sending company communications, including newsletters and bulletins, to independent agents as well as staff. Other online services she enjoys using for project management include Trello and Asana, while Canva and PicMonkey are sites she has mastered to create print and online media.

Ms. Morrone graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University.

Chris Vardiman, Director of Underwriting, has 26 years of property and casualty experience. Nineteen of those years were spent with Armed Forces Insurance Exchange, a 50-state personal lines writer, with both working and managerial level experience. He began working in the inside sales/service area in 1992 moving to Underwriting in 1996, where he worked his way through the department to the level of Supervisor. Mr. Vardiman’s product
knowledge includes Property, Liability/Umbrella, and Automobile insurance. For the last seven years, Mr. Vardiman has been with MIIMG as an Underwriting Supervisor/Manager.

Mr. Vardiman earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Marketing / Management from KCKCC in 1992 and obtained the designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the Insurance Institute of America in 2006.
